Goslings and Cygnets< back

Where the wild things are!19/10/2020

The children came back to their classroom after lunch to discover footprints across the carpet! They were all very excited by this and immediately started discussing who had left the footprints. They then spotted the fur, the ripped paper and a piece of paper with a bite-mark! They also noticed a book on the carpet called "Where the Wild Things Are". The children asked lots of questions (Who left the footprints? Was it an animal? Where did they go?).
Most of the children thought it was a bear or the Gruffalo. After looking at the cover of the book we decided it might be a creature from the story! We then decided to put tape around the footprints so that we could inspect them some more.                              Most of the children collected magnifying glasses and got a clipboard with paper to draw what they had found.
What a brilliant start to our new topic with lots of excited children. They are certainly keen to find out more!
