Year 2 used yeast, sugar and warm water to blow up balloons!
In groups, we added warm water and then sugar to yeast in our small container, mixing it in well.
We then quickly put a balloon over the mouth of our little container and left it for a while.
When we came back our balloons had blown themselves up!
The mixture of yeast, warm water and sugar produced carbon dioxide gas, which filled the balloons as it was created.
We enjoy being scientists.
