The Arts

At Meadows First School we are proud to have achieved our gold artsmark (we are in the process of having this reaccredited.) We want to expose our children to the 'best' of the arts world - the best music, composers, architects, artists and perfomers and believe that children should have exciting, memorable and hands-on opportunities to enrich their learning and foster an appreciation of the Arts.

Bromsgrove Art trail - we have created our own ARTS TRAIL for you to do with your child suring the holidays. CLICK on Meadows Mouse to follow it.

We are very proud of our school as it show cases our fabulous art work explored throughout the curiculum and during our yearly Arts Week. Each year we invite a resident artist to work across the whole school (Nursery up to Year 4) to make some exciting collaborative art pieces. Come and look at the fabulous art work we have produced!

We invest heavily in our children being able to perform, play music, sing as well as explore art visually. Every year group has the opportunity to perform in a play, experience dance, contribute to arts week as well as play music as enriched opportunities to the curriculum.

In year 3 our children have the opportunity to play the clarinet, violin or recorder which is fully funded by the school. This is a great experience for the children and some of them continue to have lesssons to play the instrument themselves. In year 4 the children perform in Young Voices which is the largest children's choir in the country performed at the Genting Arena in Birmingham.

These are just a few examples of the richness of our Arts curriculum. We welcome you to come and look around our school to see more ways that we experience the richness of the Arts world around us.
