Spiritual, Moral, Social, Cultural Education

At Meadows First School our SMSC  offer lies at the heart of everything we do.  As a school we believe in building a community of confident, responsible, caring, compassionate, respectful and highly motivated children who achieve academically.    We value the importance of children growing up into strong, active and tolerant members of society who are able to take their place in the wider world and go on to great and exciting things.

Our SMSC offer is built upon the foundations of being a Gold Rights Respecting School, our Well Being Wheel,  our school learner traits: Organised, Determined, Focused and Enthusiastic and our motto “Caring Sharing Preparing for Life” These values underpin our school ethos and every pupils’ daily school life. 

Spiritual Development

At Meadows First School, spiritual development enables pupils to look within themselves, at their human relationships and the wider world.

  • Celebrating the religious and non religious beliefs and values that our pupils bring as part of their family/heritage and to build an awareness of and respect for others’ spiritual and religious beliefs. 
  • Fostering human values and building spiritual capacities to promote self worth, self esteem and a valuing of others.
  • Helping our pupils to come to an understanding of themselves and unique individuals.
  • Developing our pupils’ curiosity, imagination, creativity and promoting a sense of awe and wonder.

At Meadows First School, we promote spiritual development through:

Moral Development

At Meadows First School, moral development enables pupils to know  what is right and wrong and act on it accordingly.

Social Development

At Meadows First School, social development enables pupils to know and respect their universal rights.  They understand how to live in a community and be a responsible citizen

At Meadows First School,  cultural development enables our pupils to acquire knowledge and understanding of others’ cultural traditions. We value and celebrate cultural diversity of our school and our society.
