From September
The arrangements for year 3 are: 8.45 start -enter via Early Years door.. Collect from key stage 2 playground at 3.15- children will be brought out onto the playground to be dismissed.
So, you've left Key Stage 1 and finally made it up all those stairs. You're now the grown-up kids that all of the younger children look up to and admire! You're guaranteed to have a blast in Year 3, with plenty of opportunities to take on some extra roles and responsibilities as well as experiencing a wide range of new activites now you are all grown up.
You and your fellow classmates will spend half a year transforming yourselves into your very own Meadows recorder orchestra with a specialist music teacher taking you from part-time squeaker to full-time music legend! If you love sports and being active, there are many more amazing sports clubs you can join both during the school day and after school. You may even get the chance to represent your school and compete against other schools in sports tournaments such as hockey, tri-golf and football. If you love singing then you will definitely want to join the school choir!
We love to take our learning beyond the classroom with a range of activites in and around the school grounds. We will all travel back in time together to learn all about the first people in Britain and discover all about those Rotten Romans in our exciting history trips! Your brain will explode with wonder when we visit the Space Centre in Leicester for our science topics. We explore our own location in more detail learning about the rocks of Bromsgrove. Back inside the classroom, we will help you develop your computing skills as you create your very own video games! If art is more your thing, we will explore a range of artistic materials including using clay for scultures as well as developing your techniques across a wide range of different art projects throughout the year. So long as you love working hard, trying new things, helping others and having fun with your learning, you will have an amazing time in Year 3. Sound good to you? Then we'll look forward to welcoming you into our Year 3 family in September.
