School Council

The School Council is a group of students elected by their peers to represent their views and help shape decisions about school life. This is an important way for children to have a voice and ensure their opinions are valued in creating a positive and inclusive school environment.

As a Gold Rights Respecting School, we are committed to upholding the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The School Council reflects Article 12, which states that every child has the right to express their views freely in all matters affecting them, and for those views to be taken seriously. By electing representatives and taking part in discussions, our pupils are exercising this right and learning about democracy, leadership, and responsibility.

School Council elections take place annually to ensure fairness and inclusion. Through their work, the council helps to make Meadows a place where every child’s voice matters.
