Our Wonderful World - Jack and the Beanstalk25/05/2022
As part of Our Wonderful World Topic, the children in Ducklings Class continue to develop their understanding of the key features of the life cycle of a plants.
The children used all their senses in hands-on exploration of natural materials, linked to the key text of Jack and the Beanstalk. They explored collections of materials with similar and/or different properties and applied this in both their maths and literacy play based experiences and activities. We have also begun to plan our vegetable patch and collect seeds to plant and grow. We even climbed our own beanstalks (rope ladders) in Forest School and cooked beans on toast on the campfire for snack!
We hope that these activities and the ongoing responsibilty of the vegetable patch will encourage the children to understand the need to respect and care for the natural environment and all living things.
