As part of National Baking Week, Year 2 got baking! They went on a trip to the Adsa Bakery and looked at the different types of bread and cakes. They were shown around and given a talk by the bakers. It was very interesting and the smell was delicious.
Year 2 also had baking homework. They chose what they wanted to bake and then brought their goodies in to school to show and share.
To finish off National Baking Week, the children baked bread in school. With Mrs Ness and Mrs Andrews they mixed the flour and yeast with water, kneaded the dough thoroughly, left it to prove and rise and finally put it into a tin to bake. The cooks in the kitchen baked the bread, then it was sliced and eaten!
